Two Chances to See Kristine This Week!

Hey everyone!

This is a big week for me, and I'd love to see you at one (or both!) of these openings. Two very different projects, two very different spaces, both asking the same questions about visibility, liberation, and what it means to take up space.

Thursday, October 23: Self/Not Selfie

Golden West College Art Gallery

Opening Reception: 4-6pm

365 selfies with friends. Floor-to-ceiling. A grid of moments where I chose visibility over hiding.

This installation is proof that I exist in community. That I'm loved enough to be in frame with 365 different moments of connection. For someone who spent decades believing she didn't deserve to be visible, every single image is resistance.

These aren't casual selfies. They're self-portraits. Each one is a small act of courage—choosing to document joy instead of disappearing. The repetition is the point. Seeing yourself over and over, genuinely smiling next to people who love you, changes something. The voice that says "you look terrible" gets quieter. The evidence piles up against it.

Come see it. Take a selfie in front of it. Add your moment of visibility to mine.

October 25-26: Kristine's Sweet Shoppe of Liberation

Brewery Artwalk

11am-6pm both days

Studio 3

Step into the most unusual candy store you've ever encountered!

Behind the vintage charm and sweet facade lies 52 years of carefully curated chaos—shredded, sorted, and packaged for your revolutionary pleasure. Collectible acrylic vitrines filled with "liberation blends": love letters, report cards, diary pages, shredded CD inserts, painted Yogurtland spoons from my eating disorder recovery journey, fragments of cut-up wigs, transparencies, and documents that no longer serve their original purpose.

Each cube is a tiny time capsule where memory, identity, and letting go become precious art. The walls themselves transform into a POW explosion of pattern and color—a virtual candy store where controlled destruction becomes something beautiful.

This is where Fluxus meets confectionery. Where your purchase makes you a collaborator in radical liberation. Where what we destroy can become more precious than what we keep.

Come for the nostalgia. Stay for the revolution. Leave with freedom you can hold in your hands.

Sneak Peak

Two projects. Two ways of taking up space. Both asking: What would it feel like to let go? What does it mean to be seen? Can freedom fit in a 3x3x3 inch cube—or across 365 moments of choosing joy?

Hope to see you this week!

Kristine
