POW!!! (The Keys to Everything): Mixed Media Wall Sculpture

POW!!!

The sound of impact. The moment everything explodes into fragments and finds new life.

This wall holds the aftermath of my refusal to stay contained. Meditative drawings I made during the early pandemic—cut up. Drop cloths that caught the overflow of 25 years of painting—cut up. Paintings stretching back decades, work I thought was finished—all cut up.

POW is the sound of refusing to be defined by what was. The sound of making space by destroying what no longer serves. The sound of my brain going in multiple directions—splintered, yes, but also liberated.

Each fragment carries the DNA of its original intention but refuses to be trapped by it. The pandemic drawings that were supposed to calm me, the drop cloths that were supposed to catch mistakes—all transformed into ammunition for taking up space.

The wall installation cascades and overlaps, creating depth and movement that mirrors the actual experience of transformation. Nothing stays in its assigned place. Everything interrupts everything else. The fragments lean into each other, creating new conversations across time, new relationships between past selves and present possibilities.

This is my brain on freedom—splintered but not broken, chaotic but intentional. Cut up art reflects how I think, how I process, how I refuse the linear narrative that insists on beginning, middle, end. Instead: explosion, reconstruction, explosion again.

POW is the sound of impact when you stop trying to be small. When you stop saving things for when you're worthy of them. When you take scissors to everything that told you to wait, to shrink, to be quiet.

The keys to everything? Cut it up. Let it explode. Watch it find new life in the fragments.

Eleven fragments on each keyring, hung together like secrets you finally have permission to unlock. The keys to everything aren't about opening doors—they're about cutting up what's behind them. Each cluster holds pieces of different works, different times, different versions of myself, all jangling together in beautiful cacophony.

The keyrings become the mechanism that turns individual fragments into collective power. What was once separate paintings, drawings, drop cloths—now hang together as keys to a different way of being. Keys to refusing linear narrative. Keys to embracing the splintered, chaotic, intentional way I actually think and create.

This is my ritual, my altar to the beautiful violence of becoming. POW is not destruction—it's the sound of making space for who I actually am.

POW!!! transforms decades of artistic practice into explosive meditation on liberation through intentional destruction.
